Yesterday (17th February) was 60 years to the day since Stafford 41 Club held its inaugural meeting at The Swan in Stafford. We would have liked to celebrate this with a meal and meeting at The Swan hotel but instead we celebrated with a Zoom meeting.
We were pleased to be joined by National President Peter, National Councillor Liaison officer Tom and Region 11 National Councillor Steve. It was good to also have our most distant member, Bob, join us from Florida.
We spent the evening discussing what we remembered from 1961. Our oldest active member member, Rodney, had the best memories as it was the year he got married! Of course, some of our younger members were not born till later but they still had good stories to tell. The general theme of all the talks was how much we owe the Round Table family for the friends and fellowship it has brought to our lives.
National Exec member Tom pointed out that our official affiliation date (charter) was not till March 1961 so we will have to celebrate it all again next month!
Thanks to Chris for chairing the meeting and providing the food. Thanks also to Bob for organising the event and Graham for the tech support.
